The transmission roller is the main component of the belt conveyor to transmit power. The driving method of the belt conveyor is divided into single roller, double roller and multi-roller. Single drum is mostly used on conveyors with less power, such as ground transportation in coal mines and coal preparation plants. Underground belt conveyors generally use double rollers to make the conveyor compact.
There are three types of transmission rollers: steel plate coil welding, cast steel and cast iron. From the structural type, there are 3 types of assembly spoke type, spoke type and overall spoke type. In addition, the surface of the drum is also available in smooth, rubber-coated, and cast rubber types. Among them, steel plate welding and assembly of spoke-type rubber rollers are widely used.
The drive roller is a component of the conveyor to transmit power. The surface of the transmission drum has exposed smooth steel surface, herringbone and diamond pattern rubber covering. Low power, small bandwidth and dry environment can be used bare steel surface. Herringbone pattern rubber surface has a large coefficient of friction, good slip resistance and drainage, but it has directionality. Rhombic rubber surface is used for two-way conveyors.
Maintenance method of drive roller:
1. Regularly clean the dust and other foreign matter on the drive roller.
2. Regularly check whether the welding place between the drum shell and the end cover is firm.
3. It is necessary to maintain the good lubricity of the transmission roller and reduce the damage of friction to the transmission roller.
4. Avoid overloading the drive roller and extend its service life.
